Designed to attach to cylinders with horizontal valves or our range of 'Advanced' adapters. Dual pressure gauges indicating cylinder pressure and output working pressure. Output pressure set to 3 bar. Precision needle valve. Optional PISCO needle valve upgrade for ultimate dosing control. Industry standard nut, compatible with DIN 477 / BS 341 No. 8 / JIS m22-14 / W21.8-14 / .860" x 1/14 (covers UK, Europe and Asia). Works with any CO2 diffuser. Note: Does not have a solenoid. The regulator is designed to reduce the high pressure of a CO2 cylinder to a lower, usable pressure that can be utilised for aquariums or homebrewing. The orientation of the regulator allows it to be connected to a gas cylinder that has a horizontal valve while keeping the needle valve output vertical, allowing for a bubble counter to be directly attached. The dual pressure gauges provide readings for the input/cylinder pressure and output/working pressure. The integrated needle valve allows for accurate adjustment, allowing for fine-tuning of CO2 dosing. Because this regulator doesn't have a solenoid, it lends itself more toward homebrewing than for use in an aquarium CO2 system. A solenoid is highly recommend for planted aquarium use to enable the CO2 be turned off during 'dark hours' when the plants are not photosynthesising and converting the Carbon Dioxide to Oxygen. Not only is dosing CO2 during dark hours a waste of CO2, but the fish may become distressed due to the increased CO2 levels. Instructions Tighten nut to CO2 cylinder or adapter using appropriate sized wrench or spanner (do not attempt to hand-tighten). Fully open the needle valve by turning anti-clockwise. This will reduce the initial pressure surge on the pressure gauges when the CO2 cylinder valve is opened. Open flow of CO2 on the cylinder. Close needle valve by turning fully anti-clockwise. Connect your bubble counter or tubing to the regulator. Begin flow of CO2 by turning the needle valve anti-clockwise. Allow a couple of minutes for pressure to build in the tubing and diffuser. Adjust needle valve until desired bubble rate is achieved.
