Sarracenia flava var. flava .

Dinwiddie Bog, Virginia.

Dormant cropped plants.

Another good example of Sarracenia flava var. flava with light veining to the upper pitcher and red marking to the neck of the pitcher, this one has a more extended neck giving a very distinct shape.

This offer is for one of the divisions shown in the second picture above. The divisions on offer are dormant so actual pitcher length is unknown but these are medium large divisions currently growing in 1litre pots.

The plant will be sent bare root and will need to be potted up ideally in a 1 Litre pot or larger preferably in a mix of Sphagnum Irish moss peat and perlite, ratio 2:1 or 1:1 or just Sphagnum Irish moss peat if supplies are limited to no great ill effect.  Peat substitutes such as Moorland Gold, coir and coco peat can also be good alternatives but please by all means do your research first.

Do  NOT  fertilize or pot in general house plant/garden compost or in anything with nutrient in it as this is likely to kill any carnivorous plant.

These plants require full exposure to sunlight for the best growth, colour and general health of the plant..

It is advisable to use only rainwater keeping your plant/s in a tray with an inch or two of water during the growing period, water less in winter keeping the soil just moist.

If you are new to growing carnivorous plants it is advisable to read up for your particular growing conditions and the best location available to you.
