Catelinet CTU12S E-flat Bass Tuba (used instrument)
Product Description
This is a used Catelinet CTU12S Bass Tuba in E-flat. Our senior brass technician was responsible for the refurbishment, and the result is very good; the instrument plays well and all the valves and tuning slides are in good order. The instrument has been chemically cleaned internally.
The instrument was returned to us in exchange for a EEb model after two years of use.
The instrument has a silver plate finish which is in good condition.
Catelinet is a brand exclusive to Rosehill Instruments.
Features
“An instrument that will appeal to young players looking for a good student model or adult players looking for a lightweight 4-valve model that is comfortable and easily transported.”
Specifications
· Silver-plated finish · 4-valve non-compensating system · Bell diameter: 16" (407mm) · Three sprung water keys · Lightweight case with wheels
The instrument is not supplied with a mouthpiece. We stock a large selection of suitable mouthpieces as well as brass accessories which are available on request.
Condition
The instrument has been checked over and serviced as necessary by our experienced on-site brass technicians who report that it is in excellent condition mechanically. Cosmetically, there are a few flaws. The silver plate is in good condition and scratch-free but there are a couple of minor dents to the bottom bow. There are some markings to the silver plate around the water-key on the first valve tuning slide- seemingly caused by a solder repair job. There is also a small discolouration near the water-key on the third valve tuning slide. Lastly there is a minor ding to the top bow (this would not display clearly in a photograph due to its size).
Please note that these flaws are extremely unlikely to deteriorate and will not affect the blowing capabilities of the instrument in any way.
The case functions perfectly but has some minor scuff marks externally and some fraying to the material around the bell end of the case.

If on initial inspection you are disappointed in any way, you may return it and receive a full refund. You are most welcome to visit and test the instrument in our playing room prior to making a commitment.

Rosehill Instruments is a music shop which has specialised in selling and repairing brass and woodwind musical instruments since 1967. It was founded by Trevor Austin (father of Paul) who was previously a euphonium player in the Horse Guards (and played on horseback at the Queen’s Coronation). Following long service in the Salvation Army as a player and conductor, his reputation led to requests to supply instruments around the UK and overseas. Rosehill is now led by Trevor’s son Paul, who was awarded a Government contract in 1999, and since that time Rosehill has been the supplier of musical instruments to Her Majesty’s Military bands. We also service and brass band and military band instruments at our workshops in Beaconsfield, many of which are then supplied overseas.
