Its purely to give you an idea of what to expect
Planting Instructions
Fill an aquatic basket to approximately 3/4 full of aquatic soil or alternatively heavy clay soil. Place rhizome in centre of basket leaving the crown above the soil level (if you are able, plant the rhizome at an angle as this can encourage more growth from its lower end) then cover the the soil with a thin layer of gravel which will protect the plant from fish and water movement. Suggested planting depth is approximately 20-30cm
True Nymphaea Variety from our own UK established stock and hardy to the UK climate. We have more UK hardy varieties and colours available in our ebay shop. UK Hardy lilies are only available in the following colours:
Red, Pink, Yellow, Peach/Salmon, White and Changeable (meaning the bloom passes through changes of colour from opening to closing)
We receive many requests for Blue/Purple Lilies. Regrettably Blue/Purple varieties are Tropical, not UK hardy, and are difficult to grow even in hot summer months. Unfortunately Tropical varieties will not tolerate Autumn, Winter and Spring temperatures in the UK
We are a family run business that has supplied to the trade for over 30 years. We grow over 100 varieties of UK hardy water lilies and you can be assured the variety we advertise is the one you will receive. If you should have any queries or need advice, please feel free to contact us.
