'The Broad Highway' by Jeffery Farnol was first published in 1910 by Jeffery Farnol, a British writer known for his romance novels set in the English Regency Period, or the Georgian Era . CONDITION
In a blue cloth cosway-style binding with a small coloured portrait pastedown plate on the front board, with decorative gilded leaf embellishment. Gilded title and decoration to spine. Externally generally smart. Bumping to the head and tail of spine and extremities. Rubbing to the front and rear joint. Small splits to thead and tail of the spine. Small tidemarks to the back board. Coloured portrait to front board is faded and rubbed. Hinges tender with chords showing front and rear. Ink inscription to front free-endpaper: 'Ida from Regie Christmas 1912'. Pencil marking to verso of rear free-endpaper 'Columbia EX389 Rex 8542' Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Tender to pages 240 and 241. Rough-cut edged pages. Pages are generally bright and clean with browning to the fore-edges. The odd spot throughout, with spotting to the first and last few pages. Foxing to the front and rear free end-paper. Red text to tissue guard for all plates. Handling marks to page 227, not affecting the text. Small mark to lower gutter of pages 230 and 231. Detached but present plate facing page 400 with protective tissue guard. Occasional pencil markings to inner margin, not affecting the text.
