The only advice we would give when using this product is to use it on a warm day (only enhances its effectiveness) and to ensure your UV (Ultra-Violet) light is turned off for at least 72 hours. (If you leave the UV on it may decrease the effectiveness of this product) What is 'Blanketweed' or 'Hair Algae' ?Blanketweed (or Hair Algae) is a common type of algae that often forms around the sides of ponds or grows on plants themselves. It is a common pond problem and we encourage customers to keep on top of it with the use of EA Stop Blanketweed. If it is left untreated you will likely find that your pump, filter and UV units can become clogged or covered up which can be life threatening to fish. Blanketweed will often smother plants and rob them of light and nutrients which in turn can also kill them in the process too. So what does it look like? The image below shows Blanketweed smothering and growing all over the Elodea (Oxygenating Weed). If left like this the Elodea would likely die away. What size should I buy?...We sell this product in four tub sizes, please remember however that dependent on how much sun your pond recieves you may need to re-treat .. (It is a good idea to buy the next tub up from what you require just incase) 1000 grams - Suitable for treating 10,000 litres of pond water.2500 grams - Suitable for treating 25,000 litres of pond water.4000 grams - Suitable for treating 40,000 litres of pond water. What size should I buy?... Most pond owners have an idea of their pond size, but if you do not simply work it out like this... Pond - Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Depth (ft) = ? Then multiply the resulting (?) number by '6.25', and then multiply again by '4.5' and this will give you a number than shows the litres that your pond holds. Have an example?... Sure, If I had a pond that was 5 foot long, by 6 foot wide, by 3 foot deep I would time numbers together and get 90. Taking this and multiplying it by 6.25 would give me 562.5 (this tells me my pond is 562.5 gallons). If you then times that by 4.5 it gives me - 2531.25 (this is my ponds size in litres) (I would buy the smallest tub unless my pond received an awful lot of sunlight during the day) Any questions please feel free to ask! (Including if you would like us to work out your pond size and recommend a size!)
