Up for offer is this Brand New "Yaw Gyro" !The “Yaw Gyro” is an external device to be used with Autohelm Type 100/300 Course Computers or Raymarine Smartpilot S1/S2/S3 Course Computers. Brand New, made in France by JLC Entreprise. It is embedding a Gyroscope Rate Sensor powered by a +12/30 volts to +5 volts up/down converter. The silicon structure Gyroscope is a solid state one axis Rate Sensor. It is a stand alone unit and its DC output is proportional to the rate of turn.It is a state-of-the-art component which has been designed for aeronautic purpose. It is the best Rate Sensor that one can find on the market with very high capabilities and performances : it shows distinguished resistance against external shocks and vibrations over a wide range of temperature. It delivers a +2.5 volts on its rate output when idle state. Electrical specification of the “Yaw Gyro” :Power supply, Cable length : 1.95 meter. Red wire : +12V (8 to 18V).Output , Yellow wire: +2.5V idle state, between 0.1V to 4.9V related to rate of turn.Consumption : ~ 28 mA. Use with Autohelm Type 100/300 Course Computer : - Connexion : connect the 3 wires of the cable of the “Yaw Gyro” on the 3 pins of the “Rate Gyro” connector, color on color.- use : the “Yaw Gyro” is automatically recognized by the Autohelm Type 100/300 Course Computer at the Power On.Select Level 3 on your Control Unit to run the gyro controlled steering. Use with Raymarine SmartPilot Course Computer S1/S2/S3 :- Connection : connect the red wire of the cable of the “Yaw Gyro” to the +12V red pin of a SeaTalk connector or to any other +12V source -BUT NOT- to the red pin of the Rate Gyro connector. The reason why is that the red pin of the Rate Gyro connector is not able to deliver more than 13mA/11V.Connect the 2 other wires of the cable of the “Yaw Gyro” on the Rate Gyro pins, color on color.- use : the “Yaw Gyro” is automatically recognized by the SmartPilot Course Computer at the power On.Level parameter of the SmartPilot can be selected on your Control Unit from 1 to 9 (only 1 to 3 if the“Yaw Gyro” is not connected) to adjust the steering accuracy that you want. Refer to the SmartPilot Commissioning Guide.- In addition, adding the “Yaw Gyro” to your SmartPilot allow you to select the AutoLearning mode on your ST6001/ST7001 or ST6002/ST7002/ST8002 Control Unit (Autolearning mode can not be selected by a ST6000+ Control Unit or others). The Autolearning mode is issued by the Raymarine AST (Advance Steering Technology) : parameters such as rudder gain, level, trim... are automatically and permanently adjusted by the AST according to sea conditions and boat behavior in order to perform the best and easy steering for your boat.Note from Raymarine documents : the micro-processor of the SmartPilot Course Computer and related circuitry combines the rate of turn information issued by the gyro with the fluxgate compass signal to provide accurate steering and moreover to provide a fast & accurate heading on NMEA0183 output that is suitable for the MARPA and radar/chart overlay features on Pathfinder Plus radars and chart plotters : the heading output is provided as an HDM sentence on NMEA0183, updated 10 times per second. It is accurate to +/-2° and has a resolution of 0.1°.
