This bush restricts most of the overrun and acceleration torque and therefore controls the powertrain tipping forwards and backwards under power on-off conditions.
By using a large bush we are able to isolate some noise and vibration but using a triple bonded bush with a stiff rubber compound significantly reduces movement.
This gives the car a much 'tighter' feel and reduces stresses on exhaust and other ancillaries attached to the powertrain.
The bush stiffens the engine to prevent movement and allows a more direct transmission drive, and also saves wear on driveshaft joints.
These mounts are extremely popular for the Mi16 conversion when the master cylinder is close to the rocker cover, eliminating the contact which can occur on standard mounts.
